;; this rule is all over your other gaming communities, which probably means that it's pretty important. do not mix ooc drama with ic drama. this is a game, it's meant to be fun for everyone. this does not entail making fun of other characters because of an ooc feeling. if you don't like someone ooc, too fucking bad. drop it here and now. this means there is to be no ooc harassment of another player either. if someone is involved with a storyline, don't bother them ooc to ask about it. asking who someone is seeing ooc is acceptable, trying to change their storyline to accommodate your own is not. this plays directly into rule number 2.
;; if you join the game and you see a pb that you want for a storyline, but that pb is already involved in a storyline that will conflict with yours? don't ask about it. if you join and the kat von d is a lesbian, don't go asking her to hook up with your alex shelley. it's unfair to the player as well as disrespectful to their storyline and how they are playing their chosen character. also, the same goes if the angelina jolie is dating the pete wentz. don't interfere directly in a storyline, trying to manipulate it to go your way. it's considered ooc drama, ooc drama does get you kicked out of the game.
;; pb is just that. do not take an ashley massaro pb and name her ashley. come up with something creative. pb is a form of creativity not found in other forms of roleplaying as you are making a character your own. in regards to this, there's also new jobs to look at. there is a job listing up in the information journal about the places that characters own. to apply for a business, merely pm the mod with a few details such as name, positions open for other gamers to work at, and a short description. this can be anything from a nightclub to a doctor's office to even a lawyer's firm.
;; while pb is a form of gaming that encourages creativity, there's the same rules as always. no bestiality, zoophilia, necromancy, etc. rape and incest are to be used with explicit consent of both storyline partners as well as the moderating team. these matters do happen, however, they're not always encouraged. also, maintain reality the very best that you can. if you make your pb an actress, it makes very little sense to have her end up pregnant and on television constantly unless their show makes such exceptions, which is rare in hollywood.
;; we do not turn away any relationships, be they gay/straight/bi/threesomes or foursomes. just please do be mature about things. also, at this time, los angeles does not have a law allowing same sex marriages. there are civil unions for these matters. in regards to pregnancy, all pregnancies must be played out at least to close of 40 weeks and full term. exceptions can be made with consent of the moderating team as life does sometimes happen, miscarriages do happen. however, if we see a frequency in miscarriages? they will no longer be allowed to take place.
;; as stated above, this game is in los angeles. this allows you to have a ton of options for your character. los angeles is a city that has a very, very dense popularity as well as many options to explore career wise. do your research however, there is a lot to see and do but there's some things that wouldn't make a lot of sense out in los angeles.
;; there's a lot of rules huh? are you reading them? you'd better be. where it asks for the password, it's gil grissom. you better remember that, cause you'll get denied if you don't.
;; we ask for a sample of your aim and journal activity on the application, all you need is one or the other. as aim is the essential form of communication for this game outside of comment tagging? we'd prefer an aim sample. keep in mind, this game was started by two people well versed in the art of storybook gaming. this means if we see a lot of *laughs* in your aim samples, you will be rejected. most people have little tolerance for scenes like that now days anyways. it's all about really being able to interact, and feed our own character off of another.
;; premade storylines are fine, as long as they do not cause drama or involve people on the hold list for someone else. this game is an active mix of celebrities, wrestlers, & musicians. i ask that your pb be famous for more then having so many friends on their myspace profile or fabulous hair. i like audrey's hair too, but she's not an acceptable pb for the game at the time being. nor is christina dolce or any of the suicide girls past apnea, as she's branched into something more.
;; disclaimers. i'm not going to ask you to get wordy or over detailed. just link to the main community on your link location and also have a line saying you're a fake person, not who your pb is. it's that simple. also, for safety and more enjoyment of the game? i'd recommend that you lock your posts under a friends only filter. this prevents annoying spammers as well, which is always good, right?
;; have a single icon up, even just one lets us as well as everyone else know who your pb is. if you absolutely, positively cannot make an icon, leave the pm team a comment and one of us will make you an icon. but really, it's not that hard. is it?
;; updates are due every four weeks, this is plenty of time to establish your character into something more then aimless floating about and taking up the role. a first post is NOT required when you join, however, one IS expected in two weeks. until then, make sure to introduce your character in the introductions community. your aim name IS required however by the time you apply. this is the one thing not to slack off on. it's the only way members can communicate with you properly. we cannot stress the importance of aim enough.
;; when applying, please make sure to click the links to join each of the sub-communities and add the moderator journal to your friend's list. when you request membership it makes it a lot easier then going and adding you all individually. alright, that's it. now, go and apply and have fun! and feel free to pimp the game to as many people as you like. the more active it gets, the better.
;; try and get your user name as something short, without un-needed underscores and all that crap. try and make it a one word name even. sure, it's a challenge but it's a lot of fun. plus, it makes the remembering who's who a lot fucking easier. ;) oh wait, that sounds elite doesn't it? really, just have fun but really, we don't need user names like john______smith here, alright? alright.
;; and yeah, ps? don't care if you like that i type in all lower cases. it saves my hands a lot of hurting. if you can't handle it, don't join alright? cool. that's it, really.
